International Conference _ Housing Manufacturing Water
- © R. D´Alencon
The Housing - Manufacturing - Water (HMW) program was initiated in 2009 as a collaboration between the Technische Universität Berlin (TUB) and six partner universities in Africa, Latin America and India and funded by the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD and the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Since its inception, HMW pursued the integration of multidisciplinary knowledge fields into yearly common learning projects and workshops. Urban designers and planers as well as manufacturing and water engineers jointly develop adequate strategies for the achievement of UN’s Millennium Development Goals, especially those referring to the development of sustainable housing areas, ecological treatment of waste water and generation of local production chains.
The International Conference “Housing Manufacturing Water” which will take place at TU Berlin between 25 and 27th September 2013 will reflect on the results of four years of trans-disciplinary cooperation. The event will bring together renowned academics, development experts, representatives of governmental and non-governmental organisation and members of the industrial sector.
